Dinosaurs Films gave us a unique concept which created a boom in the world of entertainment. Whether it is about genetic recreation or cross genetics or about a mysterious island where dinosaurs exist, they have them all. Dinosaur movies created its own genre with a combination of adventure; thriller, science fiction and action. So, let's begin from the pre historic era. 


Jurassic Park Series

Jurassic Park Series Whenever we think of a dinosaur or any dinosaur related film the first thing that comes in our mind is Jurassic Park. During the 90s this film has created a benchmark in the world of cinema with its stunning graphics which made the fossil animals look real. Jurassic park film was based on a novel named 'Jurassic Park' by Michael Crichton. Here we have rated the best Jurassic Park Movie based on their story line and concept . 

Jurassic Park 1 (1993)

The film starts from a fictional island called Isla nublar where a wealthy businessman named John Hammond and his team of genetic scientists creates a wild life park of dinosaurs. The film shows about a dinosaur's blood is extracted from a mosquito's fossil which dated back to the Jurassic age and how the DNA of dinosaur and the DNA of frog are used in the genetics lab to create extinct species. John Hammond and his scientist team invite his grandchildren, his investor Donald, paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, Mathematician Ian Malcolm and botanist Dr. Ellie Sattler to check and certify the safety of the island. But what happens when a tropical cyclone hits the island and the electricity of the island goes off. Then the wild life park becomes a death trap for the visitors.


The Lost Kingdom: Jurassic Park(1997)

After four years of the events of Isla Nublar, InGen the company John Hammond created to create dinosaurs was slowly went to the hands of his nephew Peter Ludlowwho thought that of exploiting the creatures to save the company from bankruptcy. So, John invites mathematician Ian Malcolm and his girlfriend Dr Sarah Harding to research about dinosaurs and their natural habitat in Isla Sorna, an island where dinosaurs were first created by InGen but due to a hurricane the animals were released in wild. But later they found out that Peter is actually sending the dinosaurs to a new park in San Diego. What will Ian and Sarah will do? The film became the second highest grossing film of 1997 after Titanic. The movie had a little low ratings compared to its prequel. But it earned a lot of critical acclaims and became a block buster movie.


Jurassic Park 3 (2001)

After the success of the Lost Kingdom: Jurassic Park, Steven Spielberg decided to produce the third part of Jurassic Park. The movie takes place in Isla Sorna, where Erik Kirby accidently lands with his mom's girlfriend Ben who were parasailing across the sea. Now, Paul and Amanda Kirby, a middle class divorced couple whose son is lost in a god forsaken island seek help from Dr Alan Grant. However they deceived Dr Grant claiming themselves as a rich couple who will fund his research about dinosaurs. So, Dr Grant along with his assistant Billy aids PaulKirby to save their son from the island. This film had a low ratings compared to any Jurassic park filmdue to the loss of its original director's touch. 


Jurassic World Series

This unique movie had a very unique concept about making dinosaurs into killing machines for the military. Furthermore, this movie showed a new world of genetics where dinosaurs can be genetically changed with the help of different species' DNA and how you can create a different dinosaur of your own. The Jurassic World movie had a spectacular opening which refreshed some old memories of Jurassic Park Series with a modern touch. 


Jurassic World (2015)

Claire Dearing, the operating manager of the park asks the assistance of Owen Grady, an ex-navy officer who trained raptors and created a relationship between them to check the security and safety standards of their new paddock for a new dinosaur. In gen company creates a dinosaur based theme park where cloned dinosaurs are used to attract the visitors. Simon Masrani, the park owner who wanted a different dinosaur to increase the park's attraction decides to have a new dinosaur named indominus rex. Moreover, Claire's nephews Zach and Gray came to visit the park. But what happens when the new dinosaur is more intelligent and wants to come out of its paddock and wreaks havoc in the theme park making the whole park into a big buffet for the dinosaurs. This film became the highest grossingfilm of all time with a collection of $ 1.67 billion.  


Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Its sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom defines another concept where the dinosaurs can be sold. After killing the indominus with the help of our old attraction Tyrannosaurus rex and blue, the Jurassic world became closed for the public. Three years later, the US Senate in Washington had a debate whether to protect the island's dinosaurs from its impending volcanic eruption or to allow them to be naturally extinct. Sir Benjamin Lockwood, a former partner of John Hammond decides to provide an island to the dinosaurs as a new home to them. He summons Claire (who runs a dinosaur rescue NGO to protect dinosaurs from getting extinct) to accept his proposal of island sanctuary for the living fossils with the help of Benjamin's aide Eli Mills. So, she accepts his idea and brings her team to track the animals and ship them to the new island. The movie starts with a selfless cause of saving the animals but when a mercenary group which comes to steal indominus rex's bone sample to create a new dinosaur and takes the dinosaurs to the Lockwood Mansion leaving Claire and her group alone on a dying island. Will they survive? Will they know the true intensions of Eli Mills?This film earned $1.31 Billion with good reviews from the critics and made Universal Production a second studio to earn $1 billion worldwide.

These films made us to go to the museums and learn more about dinosaurs but heywho wants to see an old giant skeleton of dinosaurs when we can see them alive in a film theatre? Brute Force aka Primitive Man (1914)

The world's first living -action film which is about a caveman and struggle to survive in the Jurassic age. This film is a silent drama film with 33 minutes duration (perhaps the world's smallest duration live -action film). This film is considered to be the first dinosaur related film which was a rough but a first start to make live-action films. Unfortunately, this film didn't create that much hype due to its duration time.


The Lost World (1925)

This film was based on 'The Lost World' written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1912. This was the first dinosaur oriented film which became a hit. This film is about an explorer named Maple White who discovers a plateau where dinosaurs are still alive. To prove the existence of this plateau, Paula White daughter of Maple White, Professor Challenger, Sportsman Sir John Roxon and news reporter Edward Malone went on an exciting yet dangerous journey to the plateau to find the dinosaurs. The group discovers dinosaurs and their behavior. This film was the first film to be shown to airline passengers. This film featured dinosaurs like allosaurus, triceratops, brontosaurus, pteranodon, stegosaurus and tyrannosaurus. The film had a running time of 106 minutes.


Lost Continent (1951)

This film is another dinosaur-oriented film. The film talks about a mysterious island which is abundant with uranium and dinosaurs. Major Joe Nolan along with his team of scientists is on an expedition to find an atomic rocket which became vanished and went off the radar. In search of their rocket they went in an aircraft where it crashes peculiarly on a mysterious island where dinosaurs exist. This film used a stop- motion animation feature for its special effects. This film however didn't hit the mark and became a flop film but it was critically acclaimed for its story line. 


The Animal World (1956)

Animal World was written, produced and directed by Irwin Allen with a running time of 82 minutes. This film was different from the rest of the films as it had no actors or actresses; this was a dinosaur narrated film. This one was all about dinosaurs of the Jurassic Age and wild animals of the Modern Age. This film was narrated by Theodore von Eltz and was distributed by Warner Bros. It suffered a lot of censorship issues due to its gruesome and horrific fights scenes of dinosaurs and live action fights of lions and gazelles. 


Journey to the Beginning of Time (1955)

This Czech film is about four teenage friends who take a rowboat to a mysterious cave which takes them to a pre historic era of dinosaurs.The film had a running time of 92 minutes which was a visual treat in the 1950's and became wildly famous and successful in East Germany, America and Japan. This film became one of the best science fiction films of all time. This film also has some fight scenes between carnivores and herbivores. 


The Land Unknown (1957)

The Land Unknown is an adventure film where navy commander Harold Roberts and Reporter Maggie Hathaway were headed to Antarctica on an aircraft for an expedition. To their surprise they found a steamy tropical jungle with living dinosaurs, flesh eating animals in a volcanic crater below the sea level. The film features elasmosaurus, stegosaurus, pterosaurs and tyrannosaurus. The special part about this film was that they used men in dinosaur suits and monitor lizards as special effects due to unaffordability of special effects system. This film didn't touch the mark and also had a low rating from the critics. 


One Million Years BC (1966)

This film was adapted from One Million BC (1940). This British film was about a fictional age where dinosaurs and cavemen existed together. The story is about tumak, a caveman from rock tribe joins the shell tribe where he falls in love with a shell tribe cavewoman. This movie contains more dinosaur related fight scenes like the fight between ceratosaurus and triceratops and fight between Pteranodon and Rhamphorhynchus. This film was a hit in UK and US and became the ninth most popular theatrical release of the year. 


Walking with Dinosaur (2013)

This one is a dinosaur centric movie with live- action and computer graphics. This film was produced by BBC Earth and Evergreen Films which was based on the TV based documentary show of the same name. This film narrates the story of a dinosaur named patchy andhow he struggles to become great in his life and wins the trust of his soul mate. The movie however didn't make much boom in the theatres and became a semi hit movie. 


Two Lost Worlds (1951)

Two Lost Worlds is an English movie which is set in the year 1830 about a shipmate named Kirk Hamilton whose soul mate Elaine is kidnapped by a group of pirates. Kirk finds the pirates and hunts them down on an estranged volcanic island where dinosaurs still exist. Kirk must hurry to himself and Elaine from this monstrous place. This one hour movie is not an original live- action dinosaur movie. This film's dinosaurs sequences were mostly taken from the One Million BC.
