Kaijiangosaurus

The Kaijiangosaurus dinosaurs falls under the category of a tetanuran theropod which is a carnivore having its origin China of the Middle Jurassic time scale.

The scientist He Xinlu explained about a similar type of species known to be the Kaijiangosaurus lini in the year of 1984, the generic name of the dinosaur was kept in accordance with the River Kai of China while its specific name has its origin from the scientist Lin Wenqiu.

The length of the dinosaur was found to be approximately five meters, other characteristics of the dinosaur was known to be explained from the fossils, the jugal known to be the skull bones are linear having edges in the anterior side whereas found to be deep in the posterior side, the Kaijiangosaurus inherits the teeth from megalosaurid dinosaurs, the tooth has saw like appearance known to be the serrations at the rear end, cervical of the neck is known to be petite, broad and tapered towards the center.

The anterior cervical contains spiny elongations which turn out to have concave edges, the neck's vertebrae broader as they very lengthy, the spines are found to be reduced and also broad, the middle portion of the posterior cervical is found to be concave mainly at their rear end, these have spines which are elongated and also broad in their appearance . The Kaijiangosaurus's dorsals are found to have one surface flat and the other is concave which is known to be platycoelous which have even sides and does not have pleurocoels, the anterior sides tail vertebrae are found to be platycoelous too having a flat anterior and a concave posterior, the back ends of the caudals found to be amphicoelous in which both the sides are concave, the tail vertebrae found to have even bottom sides but does not have a center line groove, the scapula known to be the shoulder blade is linear and also narrows down and expands lightly on the top.

The coracoid known to be the paired bone from the shoulder has an oval shape with a firm ridge found in the top most outer side. The humerus known to be the long bone from the arm whose deltopectoral crest has a triangular shape, the cross sectional view of the shaft is oval in shape, the ulna known to be the elbow bone is small in its height and is found to develop on both the sides.The claws which are three in number are found to be curved sharply, the thigh bones edges found to be enlarged, the neck points towards the back, the femurs lesser trochanter found to be reduced having a triangular shape, the middle metatarsals does not have a joint and also the third metatarsal narrows towards the apex.
