Herrerasaurus is the ancient dinosaur which found to be existed during the Carnian age of late Triassic period, over 231.4 million years ago. This carnivore species was first described by Osvaldo Reig in 1963. The species measured average of 3-6 meters long and weighed around 210–350 kilograms. Notably, it is the only species assigned to the genus.
