The Kaijiangosaurus dinosaurs falls under the category of a tetanuran theropod which is a carnivore having its origin China of the Middle Jurassic time scale.

The scientist He Xinlu explained about a similar type of species known to be the Kaijiangosaurus lini in the year of 1984, the generic name of the dinosaur was kept in accordance with the River Kai of China while its specific name has its origin from the scientist Lin Wenqiu.

The length of the dinosaur was found to be approximately five meters, other characteristics of the dinosaur was known to be explained from the fossils, the jugal known to be the skull bones are linear having edges in the anterior side whereas found to be deep in the posterior side, the Kaijiangosaurus inherits the teeth from megalosaurid dinosaurs, the tooth has saw like appearance known to be the serrations at the rear end, cervical of the neck is known to be petite, broad and tapered towards the center.
